Active Component introduces components into your Rails presentation layer. The use of components improves consistency and development speed through reuse and a new way of view code organization. Components are plain Ruby classes that are able to render themselves using a to_html method. Active Component provides several means that make it easy to write and use components.
The Admin is able to hand-pick which emails are allowed to participate from the component permissions screen.
Guilded is a framework for building web based components centered around current web standards and best practices. The current framework is written in ruby, but could be ported to other languages. Guilded intends to provide a toolset for creating and consuming reusable web components. Currently, this problem domain is filled with JavaScript frameworks. These frameworks are wonderful and work very well. However, they do not degrade gracefully and are not accessible. Guilded seeks to provide the same level of "componentization" and ease of use without sacrificing degradability and accessibility. Guilded will achieve these goals by applying each technology at our disposal to do what it was intended. XHTML will be employed for content. CSS used for layout and styling. Behavior will be added to a component with JavaScript through progressive enhancement. The user will have the best experience with a Guilded component when CSS and JavaScript are enabled in their browser, but will still be able to use the component when CSS and JavaScript are disabled. Guilded will use jQuery as it's base JavaScript framework. jQuery was chosen because it lends itself to progressive enhancement due to the way it was authored. In addition, the tight integration of jQuery's selectors with CSS selectors is also highly desirable. When authoring a Guilded component, it is encouraged to write the behavior code as a jQuery plugin. This will allow the jQuery plugin to be used outside of the Guilded project, if desired. Guilded also seeks to provide a standardized CSS framework for creating layouts that are reusable and predictable. Guilded will utilize the currently existing RubyGems system to package its components. A new Guilded component will be packaged in a Gem and have a dependency on the Guilded gem. The Guilded gem contains the framework to build Guilded components. Update: Due to the quality components, etc. being generated by the MooTools community and the general quality of the library, we have decided to include support for it in Guilded as of release 0.3.0.

A gem that provides some useful components for dry-system. The goal is to be able to easily add dependencies to your project, in a robust and easy way. The gem will take care of important best practices for you, such as: - Managing the lifecycle of a dependency (starting, shutting down, etc.) - Ensure the resources are safely wrapped (i.e. using a connection pool when neccesary) - Configuring the environment - Adding logging - And more...
Outbound sends automated email, SMS, phone calls and push notifications based on the actions users take or do not take in your app. The Outbound API has two components: Identify each of your users and their attributes using an identify API call. Track the actions that each user takes in your app using a track API call. Because every message is associated with a user (identify call) and a specific trigger action that a user took or should take (track call), Outbound is able to keep track of how each message affects user actions in your app. These calls also allow you to target campaigns and customize each message based on user data. Example: When a user in San Francisco(user attribute) does signup(event) but does not upload a picture(event) within 2 weeks, send them an email about how they'll benefit from uploading a picture.
The Castle MicroKernel is an inversion of control container that was designed towards extensibility. It combines facilities to grow orthogonally. These facilities work side-by-side, without interfering or depending on each other, to allow you to easily extend the container functionality by plugging in new concerns and semantics. You can use it as an embeddable container on tools that support extensions or plugin support, such as tools which exposes configurable pipelines or compilers. The container is set up and configured through code, and can be extended to work with a configuration system that your project supports. Castle Windsor aggregates the MicroKernel and exposes a powerful configuration support. It is suitable for common enterprise application needs. It is able to register facilities and components based on the configuration and adds support for interceptors.
Dead Simple CMS is a library for modifying different parts of your website without the overhead of having a fullblown CMS. The idea with this library is simple: provide an easy way to hook into different parts of your application (not only views) by defining the different parts to modify in an easy, straight-forward DSL. The basic components of this library include: * A DSL to define the changeable values in your app * Form generators based on SimpleForm (with or without Bootstrap) and default rails FormBuilder * Expandable storage mechanisms so you can store the data in different locations * Currently supported: Redis, Database, Memcache, even Memory (for testing) * Presenters/renderers so you can take groups of variables and render them into your views (ie image_tag) What it doesn't have: * Versioning - be able to look at old versions of the content * Timing - set start and end time for different content * Page builder tools - this is not the right tool if you want to design full pages
