Provides an Eventmachine server/client couple which allows the client to call methods within the server process, including local client-callbacks.
Provides queue driven by callbacks so suitable for asynchronous processing environments and its recurring variant for request distribution to more clients or emulating of server behaviour.
With DNode you can tie together servers written in ruby, node.js, and perl. DNode is similar to DRb, but is asynchronous and transforms callbacks embedded in deeply nested structures.

Pmrpc (https://github.com/izuzak/pmrpc) is an HTML5 JavaScript library for message passing, remote procedure call and publish-subscribe cross-contex communication in the browser. The library provides a simple API for exposing and calling procedures between browser windows, iframes and web workers, even between different origins. Pmrpc also provides several advanced features: callbacks similar to AJAX calls, ACL-based access control, asynchronous procedure support and fault-tolerance via retries. In case this wasn't clear, pmrpc is not a library for browser-server communication, it is a library for communication within the browser.
Em-resque is a version of Resque, which offers non-blocking and non-forking workers. The idea is to have fast as possible workers for tasks with lots of IO like pinging third party servers or hitting the database. The async worker is using fibers through Synchrony library to reduce the amount of callback functions. There's one fiber for worker and if one of the workers is blocking, it will block all the workers at the same time. The idea to use this version and not the regular Resque is to reduce the amount of SQL connections for high-load services. Using one process for many workers gives a better control to the amount of SQL connections. For using Resque please refer the original project. https://github.com/defunkt/resque/ The library adds two rake tasks over Resque: * resque:work_async for working inside the EventMachine
