Create and track parallel inheritance hierarchies. Hook parallel hierarchies (by including a module) to automatically update/register ancestry at include and extend, or update/register only manually. Manual registration permits definitions of ancestry across, for example, instances of the same type or instances of entirely different types. Implementation is provided by simple child/parent trees with an block to choose which parent. This permits a simple multiple inheritance model very similar to how Ruby handles modules. Conflicts for multiple inheritance are resolved by the parent most recently named for the block match. Used heavily by CascadingConfiguration gem (cascading-configuration) as well as by forthcoming Persistence and Magnets gems (persistence and magnets).
Floating point ActiveRecord Models ordering for rich client apps heavily inspirated by Trello's ordering alorithm. ActiveRecordFlorder let client decide model's position in collection, normalize given value and resolve conflicts to keep your data clean. It's highly optimalized and generate as small SQL queries. The whole philosophy is to load and update as little records as possible so in 99% it runs just one SELECT and one UPDATE. In edge cases sanitization of all records happens and bring records back to the Garden of Eden state. It's implemented with both Rails and non-Rails apps in mind and highly configurable.

Lightning is a commandline framework that lets users wrap commands with shell functions that are able to refer to any filesystem path by its basename. To achieve this, a group of paths to be translated are defined with shell globs. These shell globs, known as a lightning _bolt_, are then applied to commands to produce functions. In addition to translating basenames to full paths, lightning _functions_ can autocomplete these basenames, resolve conflicts if they have the same name, leave any non-basename arguments untouched, and autocomplete directories above and below a basename. To make bolts shareable between users and functions easier to create, lightning has _generators_. A _generator_ generates filesystem-specific globs for a bolt. Lightning comes with some default generators. Users can make their own generators with generator plugins placed under ~/.lightning/generators/.
