Backup is a RubyGem (for UNIX-like operating systems: Linux, Mac OSX) that allows you to configure and perform backups in a simple manner using an elegant Ruby DSL. It supports various databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis), it supports various storage locations (Amazon S3, Rackspace Cloud Files, Dropbox, any remote server through FTP, SFTP, SCP and RSync), it provide Syncers (RSync, S3) for efficient backups, it can archive files and directories, it can cycle backups, it can do incremental backups, it can compress backups, it can encrypt backups (OpenSSL or GPG), it can notify you about successful and/or failed backups (Email or Twitter). It is very extensible and easy to add new functionality to. It's easy to use.
Generates rake tasks for backing up and restoring your database and public folder (which should also contain any user uploaded assets) to and from an existing bucket in your Amazon S3 account. The rake tasks compresses and uploads each backup with a time stamp and the config file allows you to set how many of each backup to keep. Additionally, the plugin can be configured to generate and send a backup status report via email.
Backup is a Ruby Gem written for Unix and Rails environments. It can be used both with and without the Ruby on Rails framework! This gem offers a quick and simple solution to backing up databases such as MySQL/PostgreSQL and Files/Folders. All backups can be transferred to Amazon S3 or any remote server you have access to, using either SCP, SFTP or regular FTP. Backup handles Compression, Archiving, Encryption, Backup Cleaning (Cycling) and supports Email Notifications.

Rodauth is Ruby's most advanced authentication framework, designed to work in all rack applications. It's built using Roda and Sequel, but it can be used as middleware in front of web applications that use other web frameworks and database libraries. Rodauth aims to provide strong security for password storage by utilizing separate database accounts if possible on PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server. Configuration is done via a DSL that makes it easy to override any part of the authentication process. Rodauth supports typical authentication features: such as login and logout, changing logins and passwords, and creating, verifying, unlocking, and resetting passwords for accounts. Rodauth also supports many advanced authentication features: * Secure password storage using security definer database functions * Multiple primary multifactor authentication methods (WebAuthn and TOTP), as well as backup multifactor authentication methods (SMS and recovery codes). * Passwordless authentication using email links and WebAuthn authenticators. * Both standard HTML form and JSON API support for all features.
