This simple middleware sets anything in the X-#{prefix}-Cookie header to Cookie, and in the response will copy anything in Set-Cookie to X-#{prefix}-Set-Cookie. We have found this to be the case in some Smart TV web applications, and in mobile apps written using frameworks such as Cordova

Manages persistent connections using Net::HTTP including a thread pool for connecting to multiple hosts. Using persistent HTTP connections can dramatically increase the speed of HTTP. Creating a new HTTP connection for every request involves an extra TCP round-trip and causes TCP congestion avoidance negotiation to start over. Net::HTTP supports persistent connections with some API methods but does not make setting up a single persistent connection or managing multiple connections easy. Net::HTTP::Persistent wraps Net::HTTP and allows you to focus on how to make HTTP requests.

Until they're implemented, you can directly specify query parameters using the :extras key, e.g., # provides a legend for each data set g = GChart.line(:data => [[1, 2], [3, 4]], :extras => { "chdl" => "First|Second"})
Vanilla markItUp! for Rails 3.x, works with ERB, so, no extra gems needed like SCSS (huh?) or LESS. It comes with these sets from markItUp!: Html, Textile, Wiki Syntax, Markdown, and BBcode, if you use one of them maybe you will need to add other gems to parse it ;-).
