bloombroom has two bloom filter implementations, a standard filter for bounded key space and a continuous filter for unbounded keys (stream). also contains fast C/FFI FNV hashing and fast bit field and bit bucket field (multi bits).
Saxerator is a streaming xml-to-hash parser designed for working with very large xml files by giving you Enumerable access to manageable chunks of the document.
A specification of what stream types different clients use. The hash is intended used as reference for tests.
Ciphr is a CLI tool for performing and composing encoding, decoding, encryption, decryption, hashing, and other various operations on streams of data. It takes provided data, file data, or data from stdin, and executes a pipeline of functions on the data stream, writing the resulting data to stdout. It was designed primarily for use in the information security domain, mostly for quick or casual data manipulation for forensics, penetration testing, or capture-the-flag events; it likely could have other unforseen uses, but should be presumed to be an experimental toy as no effort was made to make included cryptographic functions robust against attacks (timing attacks, etc), and it is recommended not to use any included functions in any on-line security mechanisms.
Takes a file or stream in the VDF format developed by valve and converts it to alternative formats including YAML, JSON and a native hash.
SmarterCSV is a high-performance CSV reader and writer for Ruby focused on fastest end-to-end ingestion — not just parsing. It returns ready-to-use hashes with configurable header and value transformations, intelligent defaults, and automatic delimiter discovery. Built for real-world data pipelines, SmarterCSV supports chunked processing for large files, streaming via Enumerable APIs, and C acceleration to optimize the full ingestion path (parsing + hash construction + conversions). Designed to handle messy user-uploaded CSV while remaining easy to integrate with Rails, ActiveRecord imports, Sidekiq jobs, parallel processing, and S3-based workflows.
Use this in your Ruby programs to load up a hash of options from various files, streams and environment variables.
Simple and effective cross-platform RPC protocol. Can work with any transport capable to pass structures (dictionaries, hashes, whatever you name it). Out of the box provides JSON and BOSS formats over streams and sockets.
Compute MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512, and CRC32 checksums for strings and files. HMAC-SHA256 and HMAC-SHA512 with timing-safe verification. File checksums use streaming reads for constant memory usage. Supports generic dispatch via digest/file_digest, multi-algorithm single-pass computation, multi-file hashing, file comparison, and verification.
tlsh is a fuzzy matching library, which hashes can be used for similarity comparison. Given a byte stream with a minimum length of 256 bytes, TLSH generates a hash value which can be used for similarity comparisons. Similar objects will have similar hash values which allow for the detection of similar objects by comparing their hash values. The computed hash is 35 bytes long (output as 70 hexadecimal characters). The first 3 bytes are used to capture the information about the file as a whole (length, ...), while the last 32 bytes are used to capture information about incremental parts of the file.
