The generator can be used to create html or xhtml files. It comes with many utility functions. The javascript to render the table of contents, the custom generator functions and style sheet all can be supplied by your own, if necessary. By default there are methods to insert tables, links, paragraphs, preformatted text and arbitrary xhtml code. Due to the xml nature it is also easy to insert SVG graphs / pictures. asciidoctor-bibtex is an Asciidocotor extension that adds bibtex support for AsciiDoc documents. It does so by introducing two new macros: `cite:[KEY]` and `bibliography::[]`. Citations are parsed and replaced with formatted inline text, and reference lists are automatically generated and inserted where the `bibliography::[]` macro is placed. The references are formatted using styles provided by CSL.
asciidoc-bib generates in-text references and a reference list from an asciidoc file, using a bibtex file as a source of citation information. The syntax for an in-text reference is [[cite:bibref]], and a line containing [[bibliography]] inserts a complete reference list. See the README for more examples and further options.
