Motion-Xray is an in-app developer's toolbox. Activate Xray (usually by shaking the phone) and a UI editor appears where you can add, modify, and remove views. Why stop there! There's a log panel, and an accessibility panel that gives you a visiualization of how you app "looks" to the blind or color blind. And you're damn right it's extensible! # Fresh::Auth This gem makes it really, REALLY easy to use the Freshbooks API. It couldn't be easier. With only 3 functions you'll ever need to use, and only 2 required configuration values, it can't get any easier. ## Installation Add this line to your application's Gemfile: gem 'fresh-auth' And then execute: $ bundle Or install it yourself as: $ gem install fresh-auth ## Usage ### Configuration: You must define your Freshbooks subdomain and your OAuth Secret in your application code before using Fresh::Auth. For Ruby on Rails apps, a new file at config/initializers/fresh-auth.rb would be appropriate. This integrates seamlessly with Ruby on Rails' controller environment. If you're using some framework other than Ruby on Rails, make sure to define session in your class before including the Authentication module. This isn't recommended because your class will also need to define other objects called `params` and `request` and implement a `redirect_to` method. It gets complicated. Better leave it to Rails to handle this for you. The only public function of this module is AuthenticateWithFreshbooks. Twitterpunch =============== Twitterpunch is designed to work with PhotoBooth and OS X Folder Actions. When this script is called with the name of an image file, it will post the image to Twitter, along with a message randomly chosen from a list and a specified hashtag. If you call the script with the `--stream` argument instead, it will listen for tweets to that hashtag and download them to a specified directory. If the tweet came from another user, Twitterpunch will speak it aloud. Typically, you'll run one copy on an OSX laptop with PhotoBooth, and a separate copy on another machine (either Windows or OSX) for the viewer. You can also use a mobile device as a remote control, if you like. This will allow the user to enter a custom message for each photo that gets tweeted out, if they'd like. Follow the steps above to install the Folder Action. ### Viewing the Twitter stream Twitterpunch will run on OS X or Windows equally well. Simply configure it on the computer that will act as the Twitter display and then run in streaming mode. If a `:hashtag` is defined then all images tweeted to the configured hashtag will be displayed in the slideshow. 1. Otherwise, Twitterpunch will stream the `:handle` Twitter user's stream and display all images either posted by that user or addressed to that user. With protected tweets, you can have rudimentary access control. In either mode, tweets that come from any other user will also be spoken aloud. If you don't want to use the built-in slideshow viewer, you can disable it by removing the `:viewer` key from your `~/.twitterpunch/config.yaml` config file. Twitterpunch will then simply download the tweeted images and save them into the `:photodir` directory. You can then use anything you like to view them. There are currently two decent viewing options I am aware of. * Windows background image: * Configure the Windows background to randomly cycle through photos in a directory. * Hide desktop icons. * Hide the taskbar. * Disable screensaver and power savings. * Drawbacks: You're using Windows and you have to install Ruby & RubyGems manually. * OS X screensaver: * Choose one of the sexy screensavers and configure it to show photos from the `:photodir` * Set screensaver to a super short timeout. * Disable power savings. * Drawbacks: The screensaver doesn't reload dynamically, so I have to kick it and you'll see it reloading each time a new tweet comes in. Limitations =========== * It currently requires manual setup for Folder Actions. * Rubygame is kind of a pain to set up. = Simple task organizer syctask can be used to create, plan, prioritize and schedule tasks. ==Install The application can be installed with $ gem install syc-task == Usage syctask provides basic task organizer functions as create, update, list and complete a task. Additional functions are to plan tasks you want to accomplish today. If you are not sure in which sequence to conduct the task you can prioritize them with a pair wise comparisson. You can time tasks with start and stop and you can finally extract tasks from a minutes of meetings file. The schedule task command will print a graphical timeline of the working day assigning the planned tasks to the timeline. Busy times are marked red. Meetings are listed with associated tasks that are assigned to the meetings. Possible fields are title - the title of the task - mandatory field! description - the description of the task follow_up - the follow-up date of the task in the form yyyy-mm-dd due_date - the due-date of the task in the form yyyy-mm-dd prio - the priority of the task tags - tags the task is annotated with note - a note for the task Note: follow_up and due_date can also be written as Follow-up and Due-Date. Also case is ignored. As inidcated in the list the title column is mandatory. Without the title column scan will raise an error during a scan. A semaphore file is created with ID.track when the task ID is started. When the task is stopped the semaphore file is deleted. * General purpose tasks With syctask setting -g PHONE so called general purpose tasks can be created. These tasks can be used for time tracking and later statistic evaluation to determine the amount of disturbences e.g. by phone. These tasks are saved to default_tasks. The general purpose tasks itself are also saved to the .syc/syctask directory as regular task files. * Default task dir The default task that is used e.g. with list is saved to default_tasks_dir.
