visualisation-utils provides a number of utilities for visualising data from the command line.
Set of small and standalone utilities in Ruby.
A quick utility class to work with the facebook graph api and misc facebook functions, will be version 1 as soon as I figure out tests for this.
Taketo is an utility to aid quick access to often used servers for web-developers. Taketo uses a config written in ruby using light DSL. See http://github.com/v-yarotsky/taketo for additional instructions
A set of Rails Utilities that enable quick functionality additions in cloud-based applications.
A quick and dirty utility that allows you to select an installed gem and opens the rdoc.info page and github.com project page (if available) for the installed version of the gem.
Rotation is a quick utility to help you rotate any kind of stuff over time. I created it to control code review rotation among the team members.
An encapsulation of a convention I have been using with the slop, nenv, inifile and configatron gems for quick and dirty development of command-line based utility programs. Slop parses ARGV; Nenv parses ENV; inifile parses INI; Configatron keeps it all together. YAML and ERB preprocessing is also available. Ruby configuration files are also supported. and you can specify multiple config files of mixed types at once.
Oddjob is a simple command line driver web server, written in ruby and utilizing ruby's built in web server webrick. It is meant to be a test and development tool, suitable for static content from a local directory. Oddjob also provides basic file upload capabilities (single or multi-file upload). This includes the ability to save uploaded files locally. As a stand alone application the server is quick and convenient application for web developers working with static files. Or get a copy of the source and add in new endpoints for simple tests as needed.
The PalindromeChecker gem provides a straightforward utility to determine whether a given text is a palindrome. It removes unnecessary characters like spaces, punctuation, and symbols, and normalizes case before performing the palindrome check. This makes it ideal for validating phrases, sentences, or simple strings in various applications. With easy-to-use class methods, this gem is perfect for beginners and useful for quick text validations.
Required is a utility to require all files in a directory. Why would one want to require a whole bunch of files at once? I have used this gem on 2 projects to: - require dozens of jar files when working on a JRuby project - pull in all files before running code coverage (rcov), to find code that is otherwise dead/untouched Options for required include the ability to recursively descend through subdirectories, include/exclude files based on pattern matching, and to specify the order of requires based on filename. An array of all the files that were loaded is returned. Quick example: require 'required' required "some/path/to/dir" See the README for more examples, and description of options.
Ruby Scientist and Graphics is a practical data science toolkit for Ruby. It includes a lightweight built-in DataFrame for loading, cleaning, and transforming data; quick descriptive statistics and correlations; charting via Gruff (bar and line); and simple ML utilities (linear regression and k-means)—all behind a small, unified, pandas-inspired API. Key features: - Load data from CSV and JSON. - Clean and transform (remove/add columns, handle missing values, limit rows). - Describe datasets and compute correlations quickly. - Create bar and line charts with customization options. - Train/predict with linear regression; cluster with k-means. - Save/load project state (data + trained model) and run simple pipelines. - Optional backend adapters (e.g., Rover) while keeping the same API. Ideal for analysts and developers who want to explore data in Ruby without relying on Python or R. Note: plotting via Gruff uses rmagick, which requires ImageMagick installed on the system.
