Please see http://qrng.anu.edu.au/FAQ.php#api for more information on the bare JSON API, as well as the science behind it.
Sysrandom generates secure random numbers using /dev/urandom, getrandom(), etc
A Mersenne-Twister random number generator (RNG) packed up as a class. This allows multiple RNG streams to be active at the same time (which Ruby's normal rand/srand does not allow). The Mersenne-Twister is implemented with fast C code for speed.
This gem provides a class WeatherRandom that uses the WeatherUnderground API to generate a seed for a "T"RNG.
PCG is a family of simple fast space-efficient statistically good algorithms for random number generation. Unlike many general-purpose RNGs, they are also hard to predict. This library aims to act as the ruby interface to this set of functions
THIS GEM IS DEPRECATED, PLS SEE http://github.com/mitio/bounce_email FOR LATEST VERSION
ignis-numerics is GPU numerical computing for Ruby on the Ignis foundation: dense/sparse linear algebra, FFT (cuFFT), random number generation (cuRAND), linear solvers & decompositions (cuSOLVER), and Einstein-notation tensor contraction (cuTENSOR), with an nvmath-style API (Ignis.fft, Ignis.solve, Ignis.zeros, …). The lineage NvRuby began from, revived as a standalone gem.
phylax (Greek "guardian") is a thin, safe-by-default binding to the Windows Cryptography API: Next Generation (CNG / bcrypt.dll) and DPAPI. It does not implement any cryptography of its own — it exposes the operating system's own validated primitives through an ergonomic, hard-to-misuse Ruby API: a cryptographically secure RNG, SHA-2 hashing and HMAC (one-shot and streaming), PBKDF2 key derivation, authenticated AES-256-GCM encryption (SecretBox, with nonces generated and framed automatically so reuse is impossible), a constant-time comparison, and DPAPI protect/unprotect for secrets at rest. Windows MSVC (mswin) Ruby only.
