Task provides a toolbox for generating, tracking and serializing tasks to be performed.
Simple scheduler for long-running and infrequent tasks, no threads, always in serial
A simple way to build a pipeline of tasks. These tasks can be configured to run in serial, parallel or any combination thereof.
Have you ever had a class whose instances required a series of background tasks to run serially, strictly one after another? Than Serially is for you. Declare the tasks using a simple DSL in the order you want them to to run. The tasks for each instance will run inside a separate Resque job, in a queue you specify. The next task will run only if the previous one has finished successfully. All task runs are written to DB and can be inspected.
Intellgent json collection caching
A simple way to build a pipeline of tasks. These tasks can be configured to run in serial, parallel or any combination thereof.
Each controller action is its own class, making it possible to abstract tasks like authorization, deserialization, serialization, and callbacks.
Provides shared infrastructure for folder-based item management (tasks, ideas, etc.) across ace-* gems. Includes document loading, frontmatter parsing/serialization, filtering, sorting, directory scanning, and shortcut resolution.
A Ruby gem which takes the pain of continuously reading data from a serial port away and lets you focus on dealing with the data received. This was written specifically for reading in data from an ID-20 RFID card reader and running custom scripts to automatically perform various tasks when patrons scanned their badge at the [MN Mill](http://mnmill.org) (logging attendance, etc). Custom scripts are loaded from `ENV["HOME"]/millworker/tasks` and are executed in alphabetical order. Each script is executed with the ID of the badge passed in as an argument. For example, a script called `tweet_id.rb` existed in the afformentioned directory, it would be executed as if you had opened up a command terminal and typed `tweet_id.rb RFID_TAG_ID_HERE`.
DispatchQueueRb is a pure ruby implementation of Grand Central Dispatch concurrency primitives. It implements serial and concurrent queues, with synchronous, asynchronous, barrier and delayed dispatch methods. All queues dispatch methods support an optional dispatch groups to synchronize on completion of a group of tasks. It also provides a thread pool based concurrent queue, scaled to the number of available cpu cores, and used by default to schedule the actual work.
