A WMS (Web Map Service) is a great way to show lots of geolocated data on a map. Instead of generating static images (which will either be huge or don't have enough resolution), a WMS allows you to dynamically zoom in and out of your dataset. This gem allows you to very easily represent your data via a WMS. On one hand it extends Sinatra to give it a method called "wms" to process WMS-requests; on the other hand it extends RMagick to allow the developer to use coordinates in the methods used for drawing. # holepunch [](http://badge.fury.io/rb/holepunch) [](https://travis-ci.org/undeadlabs/holepunch) Holepunch manages AWS EC2 security groups in a declarative way through a DSL. ## Requirements - Ruby 1.9.3 or newer. ## Installation ```bash gem install holepunch ``` or in your Gemfile ```ruby gem 'holepunch' ``` ## Basic Configuration You need to provide your AWS security credentials and a region. These can be provided via the command-line options, or you can use the standard AWS environment variables: ```bash export AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID='...' export AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY='...' export AWS_REGION='us-west-2' ``` ## The SecurityGroups file Specify your security groups in a `SecurityGroups` file in your project's root. Declare security groups that you need and the ingresses you want to expose. You can add ingresses using `tcp`, `udp`, and `ping`. For each ingress you can list allowed hosts using group names or CIDR notation. ```ruby group 'web' do desc 'Web servers' tcp 80 end group 'db' do desc 'database servers' tcp 5432, 'web' end group 'log' do desc 'log server' tcp 9999, 'web', 'db', '10.1.0.0/16' end ``` An environment can be specified which is available through the `env` variable. This allows you to have custom security groups per server environment. ```ruby group "#{env}-web" group "#{env}-db" do tcp 5432, "#{env}-web" end ``` Your application may depend on security groups defined by other services. This allows spreadsheets to be: 1. Embedded in other programs, such as web servers, or optimisers 2. Without depending on any Microsoft code For example, running [these commands](examples/simple/compile.sh) turns [this spreadsheet](examples/simple/simple.xlsx) into [this Ruby code](examples/simple/ruby/simple.rb) or [this C code](examples/simple/c/simple.c). # Install Requires Ruby. Install by: gem install excel_to_code # Run To just have a go: excel_to_c <excel_file_name> This will produce a file called excelspreadsheet.c For a more complex spreadsheet: excel_to_c --compile --run-tests --settable <name of input worksheet> --prune-except <name of output worksheet> <excel file name> See the full list of options: excel_to_c --help # Gotchas, limitations and bugs 0. No custom functions, no macros for generating results 1. Results are cached. So you must call reset(), then set values, then read values. 2. It must be possible to replace INDIRECT and OFFSET formula with standard references at compile time (e.g., INDIRECT("A"&"1") is fine, INDIRECT(userInput&"3") is not. 3. CORTO - your url shortner gem ----------------------------- - Yet another url shortner? corto is a ruby gem that shorten a URL for you and store the result in a SQLite3 database. Why the world needs another url shortener? Well, true to be told I don't know the answer and I'm pretty sure this code is far away from being revolutionary. However... corto is funniest! - Usage Using corto as standalone utility is straightforward.
