If there is one thing that has plagued me over the years, it's that I constantly have more tabs in my browser open that necessary. And these tabs are usually images of Japanese idols I intend to save at some point but never do. This is because the whole process of grabbing the image either through right clicking the image or having to search for it via my browser's inspector then moving it to the desired directory via the GUI interface is an incredibly tedious and time consuming task. But through the power of code and this library, I will be able to just point the links of posts containing the images I want using this library and it will generate for me the links to the images which I can then pipe into some other tool dedicated for downloading like wget. With that being said, Hashimoto Kanna is your master now and she will show you the true nature of the force.
CommandSet is a user interface framework. Its focus is a DSL for defining commands, much like Rake or RSpec. A default readline based terminal interpreter (complete with context sensitive tab completion, and the amenities of readline: history editing, etc) is included. It could very well be adapted to interact with CGI or a GUI - both are planned. CommandSet has a lot of very nice features. First is the domain-specific language for defining commands and sets of commands. Those sets can further be neatly composed into larger interfaces, so that useful or standard commands can be resued. Optional application modes, much like Cisco's IOS, with a little bit more flexibility. Arguments have their own sub-language, that allows them to provide interface hints (like tab completion) as well as input validation. On the output side of things, CommandSet has a very flexible output capturing mechanism, which generates a tree of data as it's generated, even capturing writes to multiple places at once (even from multiple threads) and keeping everything straight. Methods that normally write to stdout are interposed and fed into the tree, so you can hack in existing scripts with minimal adjustment. The final output can be presented to the user in a number of formats, including contextual coloring and indentation, or even progress hashes. XML is also provided, although it needs some work. Templates are on the way. While you're developing your application, you might find the record and playback utilities useful. cmdset-record will start up with your defaults for your command set, and spit out an interaction script. Then you can replay the script against the live set with cmdset-playback. Great for ad hoc testing, usability surveys and general demos.
go (to project) do (stuffs) godo provides a smart way of opening a project folder in multiple terminal tabs and, in each tab, invoking a commands appropriate to that project. For example if the folder contains a Rails project the actions might include: starting mongrel, tailing one or more logs, starting consoles or IRB sessions, tailing production logs, opening an editor, running autospec, or gitk. godo works by searching your project paths for a given search string and trying to match it against paths found in one or more configured project roots. It will make some straightforward efforts to disambiguate among multiple matches to find the one you want. godo then uses configurable heuristics to figure out what type of project it is, for example "a RoR project using RSpec and Subversion". From that it will invokes a series of action appropriate to the type of project detected with each action being run, from the project folder, in its own terminal session. godo is entirely configured by a YAML file (~/.godo) that contains project types, heuristics, actions, project paths, and a session controller. A sample configuration file is provided that can be installed using godo --install. godo comes with an iTerm session controller for MacOSX that uses the rb-appscript gem to control iTerm (see lib/session.rb and lib/sessions/iterm_session.rb). It should be relatively straightforward to add new controller (e.g. for Leopard Terminal.app), or a controller that works in a different way (e.g. by creating new windows instead of new tabs). There is nothing MacOSX specific about the rest of godo so creating controllers for other unixen should be straightforward if they can be controlled from ruby. godo is a rewrite of my original 'gp' script (http://matt.blogs.it/entries/00002674.html) which fixes a number of the deficiencies of that script, turns it into a gem, has a better name, and steals the idea of using heuristics to detect project types from Solomon White's gp variant (http://onrails.org/articles/2007/11/28/scripting-the-leopard-terminal). godo now includes contributions from Lee Marlow <lee.marlow@gmail.com> including support for project level .godo files to override the global configuration, support for Terminal.app, and maximum depth support to speed up the finder. godo lives at the excellent GitHub: http://github.com/mmower/godo/ and accepts patches and forks.

If `desc` is used to provide a description, the task will become visible in help and completions. When a command task is initially defined, positional arguments to the command are available as an `Array` through `Rake::ToolkitProgram.args`. ### Option Parsing This gem extends `Rake::Task` with a `#parse_args` method that creates a `Rake::ToolkitProgram::CommandOptionParser` (derived from the standard library's `OptionParser`) and an argument accumulator and `yield`s them to its block. * The arguments accumulated through the `Rake::ToolkitProgram::CommandOptionParser` are available to the task in `Rake::ToolkitProgram.args`, replacing the normal `Array` of positional arguments. * Use the `into:` keyword of `#parse_args` to provide a custom argument accumulator object for the associated command. The default argument accumulator constructor can be defined with `Rake::ToolkitProgram.default_parsed_args`. Without either of these, the default accumulator is a `Hash`. * Options defined using `OptionParser#on` (or any of the variants) will print in the help for the associated command. ### Positional Arguments Accessing positional arguments given after the command name depends on whether or not `Rake::Task(Rake::ToolkitProgram::TaskExt)#parse_args` has been called on the command task. If this method is not called, positional arguments will be an `Array` accessible through `Rake::ToolkitProgram.args`. It is equivalent to using `#parse_args` and telling the parser `parser.expect_positional_cardinality(0)`. * `Rake::ToolkitProgram::CommandOptionParser#no_positional_args!` is a shortcut for calling `#expect_positional_cardinality(0)` on the same object. * `Rake::Task(Rake::ToolkitProgram::TaskExt)#invalid_args!` and `Rake::ToolkitProgram::CommandOptionParser#invalid_args!` are convenient ways to raise `Rake::ToolkitProgram::InvalidCommandLine` with a message. ## OptionParser in Rubies Before and After v2.4 The `OptionParser` class was extended in Ruby 2.4 to simplify capturing options into a `Hash` or other container implementing `#[]=` in a similar way. This gem supports that, but it means that behavior varies somewhat between the pre-2.4 era and the 2.4+ era. To have consistent behavior across that version change, the recommendation is to use a `Struct`, `OpenStruct`, or custom class to hold program options rather than `Hash`. ## Development After checking out the repo, run `bin/setup` to install dependencies. You can also run `bin/console` for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment. To install this gem onto your local machine, run `bundle exec rake install`. To release a new version, update the version number in `version.rb`, and then run `bundle exec rake release`, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the `.gem` file to [rubygems.org](https://rubygems.org). To run the tests, use `rake`, `rake test`, or `rspec spec`. Tests can only be run on systems that support `Kernel#fork`, as this is used to present a pristine and isolated environment for setting up the tool. Additional functions are to plan tasks you want to accomplish today. If you are not sure in which sequence to conduct the task you can prioritize them with a pair wise comparisson. You can time tasks with start and stop and you can finally extract tasks from a minutes of meetings file. The schedule task command will print a graphical timeline of the working day assigning the planned tasks to the timeline. Busy times are marked red. Meetings are listed with associated tasks that are assigned to the meetings. You control this by setting a <tt>frontpage</tt> key in your site config. - <tt>latest</tt> will display the latest comic (also the default) - <tt>first</tt> will display the first comic - <tt>chapter</tt> will display the first comic in the latest chapter - <tt>blog</tt> will display the list of blog posts - <tt>archive</tt> will display the comic archive - <tt>overview</tt> will display the comic overview (blogs and latest page) - anything else will display the extra page that has the matching <tt>slug</tt> in its Front Matter === Comics with custom HTML code You can use custom HTML code in place of an image for your comic page. Instead of creating an image, just create an HTML file in your <tt>images</tt> folder: cat '<video src="/files/my-animation.webm"></video>" > images/1.html === Multi-image comics You can add up to 12 images to each comic page on ComicFury. To do that in RageRender, add each image to an <tt>images</tt> key in your comic page: --- title: "Comic with many pages" date: "2026-04-20 16:20" images: - /images/first.png - /images/second.png - /images/third.png --- === Testing search pages Live search does not work in RageRender, as your site is statically built and can't respond to new data from the browser. However, you can simulate a search when you build the site to help test search results designs. To do that, add a `searchterm` to the search page using defaults in your `_config.yml`: defaults: - scope: path: '' layout: search values: searchterm: "my character" The search that gets performed will be somewhat similar to how ComicFury will search your comic, but may not be exactly the same. === Putting changes on ComicFury Once you're done making changes, you can <tt>pack</tt> your layout: bundle exec jekyll pack The resulting file can be uploaded to ComicFury by going to your Webcomic Management, clicking "Edit Layout", then in the box labelled "Useful", click "Restore Layout Backup". === Stuff that doesn't work Here is a probably incomplete list of things you can expect to be different about your local site compared to ComicFury: - Any comments you specify in Front Matter will be present, but you can't add new ones - Search doesn't do anything at all - Saving and loading your place in the comic isn't implemented - GET and POST variables in templates are ignored and will always be blank - Random numbers in templates will be random only once per site build, not once per page call == Without Jekyll RageRender can also be used without Jekyll to turn ComicFury templates into templates in other languages.
